I love Cath Kidston! (17.04.2016)

Good afternoon bloggers

I created this layout today for Shimelle's weekly challenge to use numbers. It has taken me all week to come up with an idea for a layout as I just couldn't think what to do. However, when I was ordering my latest Cath Kidston skirts for my birthday treat, I suddenly thought I could do a layout based on my Cath Kidston skirt collection, which is rather large!!

As with all my projects, I try hard to use neglected stash as well as new stash and this layout fits in well with that ethos!

I am particularly pleased to have used my Quickutz metro alphabet and skirt dies. I have had those for years and barely touched them!

I also like to try and use new techniques and writing my journalling directly onto the layout is a brave step for me! This is, of course, influenced by Shimelle who does it with ease. My use of washi tape is also influenced by Shimelle. I confess to not really getting the washi tape thing before but now I can't get enough of it!

The 12x12 background sheet is DoCrafts Lovely as is most of the washi tape. I think the camera washi tape came from The Works. The 6x6 numbers sheet is from a basic grey cupcake pad from 2008.

The dimensional stickers are Pandoro Hobby Tilda and were an Easter gift from my mum so they are very new. The rub ons are Renae's House and I've had them for a long time. The badge is Cath Kidston. The pearl gems came from The Works.

The heart die cut, Core'dinations red card and bubble sticker came from my stash.

I used my Amy Tangerine and October Afternoon rotary phrase stamps with an Impress Poppy Red dye ink pad. I've written the journalling using a Grant Studios La De Dah glitter pen.

I've used my Xyron sticker maker and my new Xyron mega runner as well as silicone glue and foam pads.

Thanks for looking.

Ready for take off? (09.04.2016)

Good afternoon bloggers

I created this layout today for the Oh Boy challenge at Mercy Tiera's 27 Day Scrappy Challenge for April.

I was originally going to keep this layout simple but I got a little carried away. I have never really used washi tape too much before but have been inspired by Shimelle and there's no stopping me now!

The 12x12 background sheet is Echo Park Little Boy "In the Clouds" from 2010. It cost 90p and has been in my stash for a long time. The Enjoy your flight 6x6 sheet is WRMK travel light paper pad which came free with a magazine. The Bon Voyage, Weekend Away and ticket tags are all Docrafts Papermania All Aboard.  The air hostess sticker and washi tapes are from my stash.

The black alphabet stickers are Papermania Capsule liquorice Sherbert from 2011. The question mark sticker is AC remarks Smokey Joe's from 2006. The black alpha rub ons are Doodlebug Design Inc all mixed up beetle black. The enjoying the ride banner is Sn@p Simple Stories I Am.

All the wood veneers are Studio Calico. The large eyelets are WRMK. The aeroplane paper clip is from my stash. The large map flair pin is MME Jubilee. The small brads are Sn@p Life Documented. The heart gems and twine are from my stash.

The inks used are Impress red dye, Ranger black Archival, Dew Drop Memento Summer Sky and Versacolor mini Canary.  I used a Grant Studios La De Dah journalling pen. I also used Amy Tangerine and October Afternoon phrase stamps.

I used silicone glue, double sided tape and foam pads.

I am pleased with this bright fun layout for such a lovely photo of my Billy boy. It's a wonderful memory of my special boy as he passed away unexpectedly in January and we miss him terribly.

Thanks for looking.

My Routine (08.04.2016)

Good afternoon bloggers

This is my latest layout and, to be honest, I am pleased it's done! I attempted too many challenges on one layout and it was hard work!! I don't think I am entirely happy with it and I shall keep things more simple in future. However, I persevered with it so here it is!!

The original idea was to use vellum for the weekly challenge at I don't have alot of vellum so gathered together what I could find and decided on the star theme. I was also following the April sketch challenge at For the love of pretty paper (UK Scrapbooking Group) and also incorporated their everyday routine challenge. I had been thinking of scrapping a layout about Elvis & his routine and had already printed the photos so it fitted in nicely with these challenges.

The 12x12 background sheet is Sn@p Simple Stories Say Cheese and most of the ephemeria on the page is Simple Stories. The vellum is from my stash as is the washi tape, the star paper chain, the star stickers, the journalling paper and the 8x8 scalloped page.

The frames are from The Works. The journalling pen is Grant Studios La De Dah.  I have used Stazon Midnight Blue and a blue ink from my collection. I have used my Trodant office date stamp.

The alphabet is Jillibean Soup red celebration from 2008 and I have had those for a very long time! !

I used double sided tape as an adhesive.

I hope you like my layout. I am exhausted now!!

Thanks for looking.
